Once again we joined the entire town to march in the Christmas
parade. This is the one event that really unites our small town. I
think that every Cub Scout Pack, Girl Scout group and dance
squad is represented.
This year we decided to have a float instead of walking. One
of our parents just happened to have a truck and a trailer perfect
for the parade. Another parent happened to have a ton of blue
and silver decorations to make it festive. And the rest was history.
During the staging time, the scouts got busy making things to wave in the parade. We had jingle bell sticks. Some made tinsel sticks in Blue and Gold. And everyone looked warm and festive by the time we started marching.
One parent remarked how much easier this parade was with all the scouts "fenced in" this year. I think that is a great idea moving forward.
