Twilight Camp
For the first time ever, the Palmetto Council tried out Twilight Camp in addition to Day Camp. And they put it right in our backyard. So for the first time ever, Pack 130 had a whole bunch of scouts participate in camp this summer.
The theme was Under the Sea and we had a lot of fun water events to keep us cool. But because camp was in the evening, keeping cool wasn't that hard!
The scouts did all the fun things you would expect from day camp, but for a shorter time in the evening. Scouts got to participate in all the shooting sports: Archery, BB Guns and Sling Shots. They had recreations with Gaga Ball, everyone's favorite game these days. They learned about ecology. The Tega Cay police and fire department came out and let the kids explore all the trucks. We even got to build and launch rockets.
This was such a success that the Council has already said that it will be back next year. Yea for Twilight Camp. I hope even more kids will come out and try it next year.
